# What is a data pipeline?

A data pipeline or an environment is how we organize AI training work at micro1. Think of it as a structured workflow where you (the expert) create high-quality data that helps train AI models to think, reason, and understand like humans do.

Each data pipeline is unique - with its own goals, instructions, and workflows - but they all share the same foundation: **human expertise teaching AI**.
