# Payroll policy

Here’s a quick breakdown of how payroll works:

* micro1 runs on a **semi-monthly payroll cycle**, which means:
* Work completed **from the 1st to the 15th** → paid around the **20th**
* Work completed **from the 16th to the end of the month** → paid around the **5th of the following month**

A couple of important details that often cause confusion:

* You may receive a notification saying *“Your contractor submission is approved”* a few days before the actual payment lands.
* Approvals typically happen around the **3rd and 18th**
* The **actual funds arrive to[ payroll.micro1.ai](http://payroll.micro1.ai) around the 5th or 20th**
* All payroll is processed in **PST timezone**, which can shift dates slightly depending on where you’re based
* For **U.S.-based contractors**, payments can take **+1 business day** due to payment method constraints
* If the 5th or 20th falls on a **weekend or U.S. bank holiday**, payments move to the next business day

In rare cases, timing may vary by **1–2 days.**
