Channel types

Some pipelines have more Slack channels than others, depending on how big the pipeline is. On bigger pipelines you can expect channels to look like this:
  • #pipelineName-announcements: Only micro1 staff can make announcements. Experts should not use this channel for discussion.
  • #pipelineName-team: The team channel is where experts can hold discussions and ask questions.
  • #pipelineName-reviewers: On projects with a review layer, there can be another channel specifically for reviewer-related communications.
Channel names may vary slightly, but they generally follow this structure.

How to join a channel

Your pipeline channel is where day-to-day communications related to your pipeline will live. You will not be able to join these channels on your own.

During the onboarding phase for any pipeline, you will receive an invitation to join that pipeline’s Slack channel. Once you join it you will find it in the channels section of your sidebar.
